SOFSEM 2001, the International Conference on Current Trends in Theory and Practice of Informatics, took place from November 24 to December 1, 2001, in the renowned spa town of Piešťany, Slovak Republic. This marked the 28th annual conference in the SOFSEM series, traditionally held in Slovakia or the Czech Republic.
