The semantic web

Mehr zum Buch

The 3rd International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC 2004) took place from November 7–11, 2004, in Hiroshima, Japan, marking the establishment of a tradition in Semantic Web research. Following the significant interest generated at the previous year's conference in Sanibel Island, Florida, this event confirmed the Semantic Web's place on the research agenda. With numerous special interest meetings on the Semantic Web emerging at major conferences (ACL, VLDB, ECAI, AAAI, ECML, WWW), ISWC has become the leading venue for this field. The call for papers attracted a strong response, with submissions divided into three tracks: research, industrial, and poster. The research track, dedicated to fundamental research, received 205 submissions, of which 48 were accepted. Each submission underwent evaluation by three program committee members, with final decisions made by the program co-chairs in consultation with the senior program committee. The industrial track, focusing on practical applications of Semantic Web research, garnered 22 submissions, resulting in 7 accepted papers. This robust participation underscores the ongoing relevance and growth of the Semantic Web community.
