Biomolecular/DNA computing has emerged as a well-established interdisciplinary field, integrating chemistry, computer science, molecular biology, physics, and mathematics to enhance our understanding of biology and chemistry and their applications. The 13th International Meeting on DNA Computing, held in Memphis, Tennessee from June 4–8, 2007, served as a premier forum for scientists from diverse backgrounds to share their latest findings and future visions. Organized by the International Society for Nanoscale Science, Computation and Engineering (ISNSCE) and The University of Memphis, the event attracted around 100 participants. The call for papers invited original and promising experimental and theoretical results, resulting in 62 submissions that were nearly evenly divided between theoretical and experimental categories. This balance reflects the conference's matured interdisciplinary nature. The Program Committee established quality as a key criterion, leading to a well-rounded program featuring 24 plenary oral talks, 15 full-paper posters, and 10 poster abstracts. Additionally, 5 authors were invited to present short demos in a new submission category. The conference maintained its customary structure, fostering collaboration and innovation in the field.
