From the Depths of the Soul is designed as a compilation of individual content-wise loosely related essays reflecting art therapeutic work of the author, Hana Stehlíková Babyrádová, and her students which was realised with clients of a psychiatric hospital. In the context of this main theme line, the author ponders upon the general purpose of art expression and the role of visual art in a human life. In the course of our life, the soul is exposed to many trials and human behaviour and conduct cannot be bound by a set of rules. At times, a human being finds themselves at odds with cultural norms which are forced upon them as examples to be followed. As a strike of fate into a human life can a psychotic disorder act, that contradicts the "inner and outer" world of a human being. This book, the primary focus of which is the study of a human soul through its artistic values, does not offer diagnostics of pathologic phenomena, but aims to lead the readership to the belief in the existence of anthropological generally valid values of the human fate which can be found also in the utmost difficult life situations
