A special exhibition organized by the National Museums in Berlin, in collaboration with the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, the Musei del Bargello in Florence, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, highlights the work of the Florentine sculptor Donatello (c. 1386-1466), a key figure in the Italian Renaissance. Recognized by his contemporaries for his significance, Donatello attracted clients from across Italy. This exhibition marks the first comprehensive showcase of Donatello's work in Germany in nearly 40 years, emphasizing not only the complexity of his creations but also his profound influence on the evolution of Renaissance art, particularly painting. This unique international project includes one of the largest and most diverse collections of Donatello's works, featuring sculptures and reliefs in marble, terracotta, and bronze that have never been displayed together before, making these exhibitions truly exceptional experiences.
