Roll bonding is widely used in industry due to its efficiency and low cost, but process design often relies on experience, leading to long development phases. Recent advancements include a semi-empirical composite model for AA6xxx/AA8xxx developed by Dr. Alexander Krämer, which relates bond strength to various factors. This work focuses on enhancing the FE framework and developing a coupled mechanical-thermal model for process simulation.
