In all of my clinical studies about different therapies aimed at helping people find balance, peace of mind, and relationship help, I began to realize that what the psychologist of the day were describing in their therapeutic approaches was the same things that the ancient spiritual masters were teaching thousands of years ago. Who was a better psychologist then Jesus? Who understood more about the ego, and overcoming yourself then the Buddha? My efforts in writing this book is to provide some basic ideas and approaches to beginning a meditative practice. I thought it helpful to provide the reader with not only techniques, but glimpses of where meditation can ultimately take you. I hope that you will be inspired to enter this sacred path as a result of reading this book. When we stop looking outside ourselves for all the answers and learn to “light the light within,” we will finally claim our birthright as a true son or daughter of God.
