This publication highlights the collection of Japanese secular painting at the Museum of East Asian Art in Cologne, primarily acquired by founders Adolf and Frieda Fischer before 1913. Six distinguished specialists in Japanese art offer fresh insights into pre-modern Japanese visual culture in this beautifully illustrated catalogue.
