Companies listed on stock exchanges must actively engage with investors, yet little research has focused on corporate communication practices in emerging markets. This work explores the textual communication among firms listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, equity analysts, and investors. It presents findings from three empirical studies of financial texts in Polish, including financial reports, letters to shareholders, and sell-side analyst reports. By integrating finance and language pragmatics, the research reveals the causes and effects of financial communication. The first chapter outlines the theory and concepts of corporate disclosure, while the second discusses Poland's information environment. The third chapter examines the linguistic characteristics of financial texts. The final chapter details empirical research conducted through content analysis, experiments, and market-based methods. This methodological framework can benefit students and researchers studying financial communication, and the communication strategies outlined may assist business professionals working with Polish companies. The research was supported by the National Science Center in Poland under grant number DEC-2011/03/D/HS4/03392 and conducted at Kozminski University under the supervision of Karol Marek Klimczak.
