Tiziano Dorandi erstellt eine detaillierte Liste aller Handschriften der Anthologie und analysiert die Beziehungen zwischen diesen Zeugen, um ihre Bedeutung bei der Erstellung des Stobaeus-Textes zu ermitteln. Das erste Mal wird ein stemma codicum zu diesem Zweck verwendet. Die in der Edition angewandten Kriterien weichen erheblich von denen Wachmuths ab. Angereichert ist der Band mit einer Bibliografie, Indizes und einer Konkordanz.

This book presents an introduction to a new edition of Diogenes Laertios’ Greek text (Cambridge University Press) by Tiziano Dorandi. It consists of three parts. The first contains the list of manuscripts, in the second, the author examines the main elements in the transmission, and in the third, he demonstrates the history of the text in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
