The strength of Johan Tahon lies in his determination to reveal the traces of struggle that are often only fully visible in the artist's studio, as noted by Jan Hoet, who discovered him. Now, over thirty years later, 'Universus' serves as the accompanying book for the exhibition of the same name in Oudenaarde, named after a sculpture that has stood there for twenty years. This book not only acts as a catalog but also narrates the evolution of Tahon’s sculpture, his place in art history, and the objects he collects. The exhibition runs from April 24 to September 30, 2021, at the MOU Museum of Oudenaarde, Belgium.
