Vzájemná korespondence Josefa Jirečka a Václava Vladivoje Tomka 1858–1862 Vzájemná korespondence dvou vynikajících historiků, Josefa Jirečka a Václava Vladivoje Tomka, která jako celek nebyla ještě vydána, mapuje zlomovou dobu v habsburské monarchii (italské tažení, pád „Bachova absolutismu“, únorová ústava z roku 1861), v české společnosti (první fáze diskusí o pravosti Rukopisů, příprava obecních voleb, voleb do zemského sněmu i říšské rady) i obou vědců a politiků osobně (po roztržce po revoluci 1848/49 se opět sblížili s českou vlasteneckou reprezentací a začali s ní spolupracovat jak v politice, tak ve vědeckých projektech, jako byl například Riegrův slovník naučný). Oba muže pojilo celoživotní přátelství, které vyrůstalo z jejich shodného národního a politického smýšlení a z mnohaletých profesních a vědeckých kontaktů. Důslednou loajalitou a spoluprací s Vídní chtěli počátkem padesátých let 19. století dosáhnout úspěchů v řešení české národní otázky v rámci Rakouska. V dopisech jsou tak zachyceny reflexe na důležité události, názory i otevřené soudy, které nabídnou možnost dalšího důkladného poznání vymezené doby.

Český historik Václav Vladivoj Tomek, mimo jiné autor Dějepisu města Prahy a první rektor české části Karlo-Ferdinandovy univerzity v Praze, je autorem této knížky, která se zaměřuje na pověsti ze slavného hradu Karlštejna.
