Tom Harrison

    Tom Harrisson war ein Universalgelehrter, dessen Interessen von Ornithologie und Anthropologie bis hin zu Feldforschung und Militärdienst reichten. Seine Karriere begann mit Feldstudien auf Borneo und den Neuen Hebriden, und später war er Mitbegründer des Mass-Observation-Projekts, das das tägliche Leben der Briten untersuchte. Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs war er an Sondereinsätzen beteiligt und wirkte an der Rettung abgeschossener amerikanischer Flieger mit. Seine späteren archäologischen Arbeiten in den Niah-Höhlen legten frühe menschliche Überreste frei, und sein Leben war Gegenstand zahlreicher Dokumentationen und Biografien.
