Thumbkin helps everyone in the circus, from the lion tamer and the clowns to the bareback rider and the tightrope walker, and soon he becomes the hit of the show.

Angelmouse has a mission (sent from "You-know-who") and a constant battle to keep his halo bright. Whenever he is tempted to be naughty, his halo (or "thingamajig") tarnishes and starts to slip. His best friend, Midge, a little bird, is always trying to keep Angelmouse on the right track.
