The second title of the book series Focused on, Object explores the Gold Star of the Hero of CSSR, the highest state decoration of communist Czechoslovakia, established in 1955. The introduction provides a brief history of distinctions, while subsequent chapters delve into the creation and awarding of the honorary title of Hero of CSSR, along with profiles of individual recipients. A significant focus is on Vladimír Clementis, who was awarded the Gold Star of the Hero in memoriam, with his decoration currently housed in the collections of the SNM – Museum of History. The text also examines other orders and decorations from Clementis's estate, which were transferred to the museum from the now-defunct Institute of History of the Communist Party of Slovakia. Compiled through archival and material research, the book presents previously unpublished information in an engaging manner, offering a comprehensive view of this intriguing phaleristic topic. The Slovak National Museum, a state allowance organization under the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, serves as the backdrop for this exploration. The book includes a foreword, sections on distinctions, the hierarchy of Czechoslovak orders during the socialist era, and detailed accounts of the Gold Star holders, culminating in an epilogue and a list of sources.
