Focusing on the sociological aspects of historical writing, this book explores the Arabs' historical presence from 330 B.C. to A.D. 670, challenging the conventional view that they were politically and culturally insignificant before Islam. It argues that the emergence of the Arabs under the Prophet was a culmination of a long-standing historical process, influenced by prior cultural and political unity, as well as external factors like Roman interference. This perspective reshapes the understanding of Arab history and its impact on contemporary relations between the West and the Middle East.
