Letters from a Father to His Daughter is a collection of 30 letters written by Jawaharlal Nehru to his 10-year-old daughter, Indira Gandhi, in 1928 while she was in Mussoorie and he was in prison in Allahabad. The letters cover diverse topics like natural history, the evolution of the Earth, the origins of civilizations, world religions, Indian history (including the Ramayana and Mahabharata), and basic economics and trade, all explained simply to nurture Indira's intellectual curiosity. The core purpose was to educate her about the world and foster empathy, critical thinking, and a global perspective.
