Matilda is an extraordinary little girl with remarkable abilities. At just five-and-a-half, she excels in double-digit multiplication and devours Dickens with ease. Despite being a super-nerd and the teacher's pet, her classmates adore her. However, her home life is far from ideal, as she is stuck with two self-absorbed parents. At school, she faces the tyrannical principal, Mrs. Trunchbull, a former hammer-throwing champion who terrorizes students with her brute force and lack of empathy. Yet, Matilda possesses incredible inner strength: astonishing intelligence, saintly patience, and a knack for clever revenge. She begins with practical jokes aimed at her clueless parents, but her true challenge arises when she stands up for her beloved teacher, Miss Honey, against the malevolent Trunchbull. While the outcome is never in doubt, the story unfolds in unexpected ways. Roald Dahl masterfully blends imaginative storytelling with emotional depth, making readers genuinely care for Matilda, who, despite her gifts, experiences real feelings.
