Autobiografie bombardovacího pilota RAF - Group Captaina (plukovníka) Toma Sawyera DFC. Popisuje pět a půl roku, které strávil v RAF u Bomber Command. S 10. perutí whitleyů absolvoval první nálety nad Německo, pak létal na halifaxech u 76. perutě a znovu na whitleyích, když se stal velitelech 78. perutě. Pak se stal velitelem 51. perutě halifaxů. Poté sloužil jako velitel základny v Burnu, Driffieldu a Lissettu, což z něj učinilo jednoho z nejzkušenějších velitelů základen v rámci celé RAF. V knize jsou nejen zážitky z každodenní letecké "práce" a z náletů nad nepřátelské území, ale také humorné příhody ze života perutí RAF. První české vydání.
