Postrach Denis si nesplnil prázdninovú domácu úlohu a za trest si celý rok musí písať denník. Mrzí ho to iba chvíľku. A to presne dovtedy, kým mu v hlave neskrsne nápad, že z denníka urobí príručku pre budúce generácie postrachov. A tak sa dozviete, čo všetko sa dá zažiť v mestečku Žúrkovo, aké fígle stvára Denis so svojím verným psom Tesákom a kamošmi Brčkom a Piškótom či ako jednoducho rozoznať padavky – napríklad Denisovho najúhlavnejšieho nepriateľa Waltera.
