The story follows the Bone cousins, Gran'ma Ben, and Thorn as they arrive in Atheia, reuniting with friends to confront the escalating threat from The Lord of the Locusts and the Pawan army, which has allied with Briar and the rat creatures. With Thorn's visions intensifying, the danger heightens. Meanwhile, Phoney Bone is on a quest to uncover Atheia's rumored wealth, adding a layer of comedic ambition to the unfolding conflict.

Nachdem sie aufgrund zwielichtiger Geschäfte aus Boneville geflohen sind, werden die drei Bones Fone Bone, Smiley Bone und Phoney Bone in der Einöde von einem Heuschreckenschwarm getrennt.
