Der Indianer Raphael lebt mit seiner Familie, ohne jede finanzielle Unterstützung, in einer illegalen Trailersiedlung am Rande einer Müllkippe im Mittleren Westen der USA. Die Chance, seine kleine Familie durch Arbeit zu ernähren, liegt, ohne Protektion, bei Null.
