The aim of the book is to understand the endodontic obturation of a root canal system, to fill voids, promote a hermetic seal, and prevent the ingress of bacteria into the periapical tissue. Although gutta-percha has been used for canal obturation for the past 40 years, techniques and sealers have evolved during this time. Various techniques such as lateral condensation, warm vertical condensation, and carrier-based obturation are described in the scientific literature. Among sealers, the latest trend is bioceramic sealers. It has been reported that bioceramic sealers are non-toxic, hydrophilic, expand upon setting, and are antimicrobial.
