Ich wurde gerettet, damit ich erzählen kann

Es ist eine der beeindruckendsten Geschichten der neueren Zeit: Ein Junge, der im Süden Ruandas in eine bettelarme Familie geboren wurde, Ziegen hütete und bei der Feldarbeit half, sobald er laufen konnte. Jesus fragte den 15 Jahre alten Segatashya, ob er bereit wäre, eine Aufgabe zu übernehmen. Segatashya sollte seine Eltern verlassen und in Ruanda und den umliegenden Ländern den Glauben verkünden und die Menschen an das ewige Leben erinnern. Der Junge war einverstanden. Jesus erschien ihm oft und bereitete ihn auf diese Mission vor. Er beantwortete viele der Fragen, die der Junge ihm stellte und die die Menschheit schon immer bewegten. Tausende Menschen hörten Segatashyas öffentliche Reden und bekehrten sich. Obwohl er viel erleiden musste, staunten die Menschen über seine Demut und über seine spirituelle Weisheit. Bald beeindruckte der Junge die Theologen und Gelehrten durch sein umfassendes Wissen. Die Ärzte und Psychiater, die ihn untersuchten, bestätigten seine psychische Gesundheit. Segatashya starb sehr jung, wie Jesus es ihm vorausgesagt hatte. Er wurde 1994 während des Genozids ermordet.
Maria spricht zur Welt aus dem Herzen Afrikas
Dreizehn Jahre vor dem schrecklichen Völkermord in Ruanda, bei dem mehr als eine Million Menschen getötet wurden, erschien die Jungfrau Maria zunächst drei Schülerinnen, im Folgejahr insgesamt acht Jugendlichen, sieben Mädchen und einem Jungen, in einem abgelegenen Ort im Süden Ruandas. Die Jungfrau Maria warnte in ihren Botschaften vor dem bevorstehenden Massenmord und teilte den Jugendlichen in Botschaften für die Regierung und die Kirchenführer mit, wie die Feindschaft unter den verschiedenen Ethnien beendet werden kann. Zunächst glaubte den Mädchen niemand. Die Mitschülerinnen verspotteten sie und die Lehrer der High School sowie die Vertreter der Amtskirche waren skeptisch. Als in diesem abgelegenen Ort jedoch ein Wunder nach dem anderen geschah, pilgerten viele der Einwohner Ruandas nach Kibeho - oft in tagelangen Fußmärschen durch den Busch -, da es von vielen Orten aus keine Straßenverbindung gab. Immaculée Ilibagizas selbst war oft in Kibeho und Zeugin vieler Wunder, die dort geschahen. Sie hat auch die Visionärinnen persönlich kennengelernt. Die Erscheinungen von Kibeho sind die einzigen Marienerscheinungen in Afrika, die vom Vatikan für die Gesamtkirche anerkannt wurden.

Mým příspěvkem je pouze můj vlastní příběh – ano, příběh o přežití genocidy, ale také svědectví o tom, jak jsem díky víře a uzdravující síle odpuštění znovu objevila chuť žít, smysl života. Jde o pravdivý příběh: všechny události se skutečně staly, používám své vlastní jméno i skutečná jména mých rodinných příslušníků.
