Ayten Çalış Bücher

Born in Trabzon in 1956, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın completed his primary and high school education in Trabzon, bachelor's education in University of Cairo and Ankara University before continuing his academic studies in Arabic Language and Literature. Aydın has been active on many national and international duties since 1975 when he first took office in Turkish Armed Forces. He started working as an academic member of Istanbul University; Established BIL Holding, 14 other enterprises within its structure, and BIL Educational Institutions providing education services with 150 schools; He is still the board chairman of these establishments. In 2003, he laid the base of Turkey's biggest foundation university, Istanbul Aydin University, first university to hold a corporate governance rating in Turkey as well as 40000 students, 35 Research Centers, 2 think-tanks, 2 UNESCO platforms as well as and strong laboratory infrastructures. Aydın also established IAU Incubation Centers located in Cyprus Science University, England, Baku, Teheran, Beijing, Chicago and Silicon Valley - San Francisco, respectively. Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Aydın, who coined the term of education diplomacy into our country, pioneered the establishment of 'Study in Turkey' brand in 2010. He brought a new vision to our higher education with 'Hybrid Model Higher Education System', shown as an exemplary model for the next generation education by the European University Association. He was awarded four Honorary Doctorates by various international universities as well as a 'State Order' by the government of Moldova. Receiving many national and international awards, Aydın's 'Islamic World's Bests of the Year - Educator of the Year Award' and 'Educator of the Future Award' are two of the most important awards he received in recent years. Speaking two foreign languages, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aydın has thirteen published works and still actively takes part in higher education and civil society fields. He is married and father of three.
