Tintin und seine Freunde werden in das letzte Abenteuer von Tintin, das ihn in das fiktive südamerikanische Land San Teodoros führt, verwickelt. Dort herrscht General Tapioca als Diktator und hat die Sängerin Bianca Castafiore gefangen genommen, da sie angeblich ein Komplott gegen ihn plant.
