Autorenkommentar Mein Ziel beim Schreiben dieser kleinen Broschüre ist es, neue Forschungsergebnisse und Theorien vorzustellen und mit meinen eigenen Ideen zu verbinden, so einen Überblick zu verschaffen und eine alternative Sichtweise des Themas „Dominanz“ zu vermitteln. Mit anderen Worten möchte ich die Frage untersuchen, ob es überhaupt Hunde gibt, die eine höhere Position innerhalb ihres „Menschenrudels“ anstreben. Ist das Dominanzstreben des Hundes uns Menschen gegenüber wirklich eine Tatsache oder ist es eine fixe Idee? Mein Gefühl sagt mir, dass das Ergebnis dieser Überlegungen ebenso viele Fragen aufwirft, wie es Antworten gibt. Trotzdem ist es notwendig, immer wieder kritisch zu hinterfragen, für neue Ansätze offen zu sein und zumindest in Erwägung zu ziehen, dass es vielleicht andere Ansichten über Rangordnung im Rudel gibt und Hunde kein Komplott mit dem Ziel schmieden, die Menschheit zu beherrschen!
