Johann Georg Gichtel war ein deutscher Mystiker und Religionsführer, der den Luthertum kritisierte und dessen Anhänger sich schließlich von diesem Glauben trennten. Johann Georg Gichtel (1636-1710) byl svérázný mystik a duchovní žák Jakoba Böhmeho (1575-1624), jehož učení promítl do vlastních vizí a představ duchovního obrození padlého člověka. Poté, co z náboženských důvodů opustil Řezno a odcestoval do Amsterdamu, založil zde společenství žijící v přísných asketických podmínkách, tzv. „andělské bratry“.
