Gegenüber dem Vorgänger neue Kapitel bzw. Abschnitte zu Plug-and-play, Prozessorarchitektur, PC-Cards (PCMCIA), Multimedia und Internet, ein wesentlich veränderter Abschnitt über magneto-optische Laufwerke sowie Aktualisierung in den meisten Kapiteln. Die alte Ausgabe von tewi sollte gegen diese ausgetauscht werden.
