Music and art have gone together at least as long as there's been singing in church, but "Sound & Vision" opens in 1967, when the covers of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (Peter Blake) and "The Velvet Underground and Nico" (Andy Warhol) announced that musical collaboration with Pop artists was here to stay. It moves on to the artist-muse relationship, with attention to Robert Mapplethorpe and Patti Smith, who lead to Punk, New Wave and the artists of the East Village. In the 1980s, art-school musicians like the Talking Heads and Sonic Youth fused the primitive energies of rock with the intellectual refinements of art school, emerging with a unified aesthetic just as videos were raising the importance of the visual. Today, videos and art of all kinds continue to create and influence the market for music, and collaborations are thriving, from schoolmates Damien Hirst and Blur to partners Bjork and Matthew Barney and ur-hipsters Beck and Marcel Dzama. "Sound & Vision" observes the fertile mixing of photography, painting, music and video, a node of interdisciplinary connections that has slowly become a major influence in the historical development of both pop music and visual arts. Cambia la società, cambiano gli equilibri economici, i valori e le convenzioni, e di pari passo cambia il modo in cui si vivono e si raccontano le storie d' dagli anni del boom economico, in cui dietro famiglie modello si celano spesso relazioni clandestine come quelle evocate nel “Cielo in una stanza”, agli anni Settanta, in cui Guccini racconta con “Eskimo” un nuovo rapporto di coppia, trasformato dalla rivoluzione sessuale, passando per la solitudine femminile messa in scena nell'“Appuntamento” di Ornella Vanoni e per l'amore tra adolescenti raccontato da Mogol e Battisti nella “Canzone del sole”. Negli anni Ottanta Luca Carboni canta il bisogno di libertà, trasgressione e passione dei ventenni, nei Novanta l'indie rock degli Afterhours dà voce ai trentenni inquieti che vivono amori ai limiti, "amori molesti". Poi arriva il rap arrabbiato e provocatorio di Fabri Fibra, e infine l'estetica hipster e rétro degli anni Dieci, con lo struggente romanticismo di ritorno dei Thegiornalisti. Endrigo, Celentano, Vecchioni, Gaber, Dalla, e poi Gianna Nannini, Renato Zero, Vasco, De Gregori, Zucchero, Mia Martini e ancora Jovanotti, Laura Pausini, gli Articolo 31, Ligabue, gli 883, Battiato, Tiziano Ferro, i Negramaro, Elisa, i Subsonica, sono solo alcuni dei nomi che compongono questo straordinario canzoniere d'amore, in cui l'autore si mette in gioco anche in prima persona ripercorrendo la sua educazione sentimentale e indagando com'è cambiato nel tempo il suo modo di vivere le relazioni d'amore e gli affetti familiari. Luca Beatrice ci accompagna in una cavalcata indimenticabile alla scoperta della colonna sonora dei nostri amori.
