The Moving Out: Collected Early Poems
    • Set against the backdrop of a week-long raft trip through the wilds of southcentral Alaska, this book-length poem intertwines the beauty of regional wildlife with a meditative exploration of the river's dynamic landscape. As the narrator reflects on the impact of the second Iraq War, the influence of the fifteenth-century mystic poet Kabir adds a spiritual dimension, guiding the narrator through this journey of introspection and connection to nature. The river's currents shape both the poem's form and its contemplative themes.

The play humorously explores the idea that children are innately intelligent but lose their wisdom by the time they can speak. Featuring adults in children's roles and oversized playground equipment, it combines comedy with poignant moments, ultimately leaving the audience both entertained and reflective.
