Thomas Stevens

    Thomas Stevens war ein unerschrockener Abenteurer, der als erste Person den Globus mit dem Fahrrad umrundete. Seine epische Reise mit einem Ordinary-Fahrrad (auch Penny-Farthing genannt) dauerte von April 1884 bis Dezember 1886. Nach dieser bemerkenswerten Leistung setzte Stevens seine globalen Erkundungen fort, darunter die Suche nach Henry Morton Stanley in Afrika und die Untersuchung der Behauptungen indischer Asketen. Schließlich ließ er sich in London nieder und leitete das Garrick Theatre.
