In the early 20th century, Marc Edmund Jones and a clairvoyant friend formulated the Sabian symbols in an attempt to produce a series of symbols for the degrees of the zodiac that would be relevant to contemporary students of astrology. Dane Rudhyar then expanded on the symbols, reinterpreting them to emphasize their character as a cyclic series. Rudhyar's model formalizes and reveals the archetypal meaning of 360 basic phases of human experience in a greater holistic context. Since the book was first published in 1973, it has become a staple in many professional astrologers' toolkits. The images cultivated by Rudhyar are used for further contemplation of every degree of the zodiac. The images for each degree can be used to add insight to the meaning of the planets, the lunar nodes, or any significant point in the horoscope. Many astrologers now consult the Sabian symbols when interpreting progressions in order to reflect on the degree of progressed New Moon. These symbols help expand astrological interpretation beyond the concrete and literal into the creative and imaginal realm, where meaning arises through image and story, opening us to the experience of conscious engagement with the creative unfolding of life. Rania je podivuhodná novela o duchovním putování hrdinky, jejíž osud je naplněn nadějí i zoufalstvím, temnotou i světlem, láskou i bojem. Epické vyprávění hudebního skladatele, astrologa a filosofa Dane Rudhyara, inspirované jeho vlastním životem a osudy přátel, líčí lidský osud poznamenaný tragickou cestou individualizace a svízelným putováním po transpersonální stezce. Hrdinka se snaží vymanit z podmíněnosti a nalézt duchovní podstatu, přičemž se nevyhnutelně střetává se silami temnoty vlastní duše i duchovních světů. Příběh silné ženy je naplněn extrémy světla a temnoty, krásy a tragičnosti. Autor koncipoval dílo jako symfonii se třemi dějstvími, kde se poetická a hudební forma odráží v délce kapitol. Na začátku jsou kapitoly krátké, ale jak se děj zvolňuje, prodlužují se. Ve druhé části se tempo zpomaluje a krátké kapitoly se objevují znovu až ve třetí části, která končí vzpomínkou na počáteční hrdinské téma oběti. Děj je dramatický a přeskakuje mezi vrcholy, zatímco postavy se objevují na pozadí společenských a přírodních scenérií, jež jsou načrtnuty zhruba, z hlediska svých bytostných rysů.
The material for this work was written in 1943-44, following the earlier publication, and is one of Rudhyar's most accessible texts. It offers detailed descriptions of the ten astrological planets across the twelve houses, presenting interpretations that are striking, psychological, and critical, differing from Rudhyar's later works. The electronic edition features hyperlinks to numerous birth charts of interesting nativities. This volume should not be confused with Rudhyar's later titles, which are currently out-of-print. Rudhyar emphasizes that every personality arises from an individual vision and collective habits, suggesting that greatness comes from using these habits to express one's vision, while weakness results from the vision being distorted by collective influences. The interplay between individual and collective elements often creates internal conflict. Tato práce líčí příběh veškerenstva jako cyklické dění, dynamickou souhru principů Jednoty a Rozmanitosti, subjektivity a objektivity. Nabízí nové paradigma, referenční rámec, do něhož je možné zasadit veškerou zkušenost. B. im Horoskop) festgelegt ist, so muß dies noch lange nicht bedeuten, daß auch die Ereignisse, welche dieses Grundschema mit Leben erfüllen, ebenfalls schon vorherbestimmt sind. Mit ganzer Überzeugungskraft vermittelt der Autor seine Botschaft: das Horoskop ist eine Archetyp besonderer Art. Rudhyar deckt auf, daß die Astrolgie sehr wohl bei der Entwicklung der Persönlichkeit Pate stehen kann. Gleichzeitig versäumt er es aber auch nicht, auf die darin verborgenen Gefahren hinzuweisen. Besonders wertvoll sind seine Ausblicke auf die Mysterien von Schlaf und Traum, die sexuellen Faktoren der Persönlichkeit, die großen Wendepunkte im Leben und den erfolgreichen Umgang mit Krisen. Hier gibt er nicht nur Hilfestellungen zur Lösung von Problemen, sondern demonstriert anhand grundmenschlicher Erfahrungen die Einheit von Individuum und Universum.
