Seine Fotografien erzählen die Geschichte der Gegenwartskunst und gehören zu den schönsten Beispielen der Künstlerfotografie. Seit den Siebzigerjahren ist Benjamin Katz mit seiner Kamera ein fester Bestandteil der Kunstszene. In seinem umfangreichen Archiv sind nahezu alle großen Namen vertreten, darunter A. R. Penck, Markus Lüppertz, Anselm Kiefer, Gerhard Richter und viele andere. Der FAZ-Journalist Freddy Langer beschreibt in seinem Essay, wie Katz mit vornehmer Zurückhaltung das Geschehen beobachtet und mit einer kaum wahrnehmbaren Geste Kontakt zu den Anwesenden aufnimmt, bevor er blitzschnell seine Kamera zückt. This book was written for bright, brave and curious people who wish to become farsighted, to find other meanings and necessities beyond our recent Grand Tales (Religion, Pessimism, Capitalism and Science). The Fifth Narrative is about our emergence out of our "dung beetle´" state. It reveals our unawareness that the "dungballs" which currently sustain us (Grand Narratives) constrain our ability to be farsighted thus endangering our future evolution. It tells how human folly in our time seems more than ever to confound these grand stories and their bearing meaning. It explains why a new grand Narrative is necessary in order to survive and prevail. And why a new psychology encompassing areas like global ecology, demography, resources and politics is of impending necessity. The book deals with the emergence of a new civilization through technology and farsighted knowledge, which will form and guide our further evolution. Its essential message is: Let us become wiser ascending Icarus, rising beyond our limiting schemes and perspectives.

The Order of the Knights Templar, whose original purpose was to protect pilgrims to the Holy Land, was first given its own Rule in 1129, formalising the exceptional combination of soldier and monk. This translation of Henri de Curzon's 1886 edition of the French Rule is derived from the three extant medieval manuscripts. Both monastic rule and military manual, the Ruleis a unique document and an important historical source. It comprises the Primitive Rule, Hierarchical Statutes, Penances, Conventual Life, the Holding of Ordinary Chapters, Further Details on Penances, and Reception into the Order. There are details of clothing, armour and equipment; instructions on conduct while on campaign; information on the daily life of members of the order and on the discipline which made it a formidable fighting force. The Ruleevolved over almost 150 years of the Order's history, and is thus a dynamic piece of work, showing how the Templars adapted to political change and formulated their disciplinary code. On 6.8.1945 the first Atomic bomb was detonated over Hiroshima. With its explosion, a new era in human mass destructive history ensued. On the 12.8.1953 exploded the Russians the first operational nuclear device called Joe 4. It signified a new era of humanity' potential to destroy itself. Without much notice the author of this book unleashed the ultimate mental bomb, by claiming that only by upgrading Homo sapiens to become wiser and more farsighted and adapting a global faith free of Gods and human stupidity, can we save the best part of us. Without us evolving further, beyond our own limitations and adapting new global faith and mission, human beings' voyage will become redundant and end in oblivion.
