Das Festival für zeitgenössische Kunst aus Dortmund: Emerging Artists Dortmund ist eine fruchtbare Kooperation des Dortmunder Kunstvereins mit dem Kulturbüro der Stadt Dortmund. Ziel von Emerging Arstists ist es, den KünstlerInnen der Stadt nachhaltig zu jener Aufmerksamkeit zu verhelfen, die für ihre berufliche Zukunft nötig ist.

Matthais Meyer's paintings of cityscapes and landscapes combine and collide Monet's lusciously dissolved figuration with Gerhard Richter's harrowed, striated abstraction. (Meyer was a student of Richter's at the Düsseldorf Academy in the early 1990s.) On What Is Really Seen reproduces works from 2005 to the present.
