“Christina“ is my third and so far my last piece written for a band. All those compositions are very different in style, “Christina” and “Walzer” being tonal. This last piece reminds of a summer festival maybe with a turning carousel. Being written in 3/4, it has also the character of a waltz. The instruments of the band are the following: Flute, Clarinet in Sib, 3 Saxes (S-A-T), Trumpets in Sib, Flicorno Mib, Flicorno Sib(Bombardino), Bariton(Euphonium or Trombone), Basso (Tuba), Percussions(Cassa, Tamburo, Piatti). Printed score was made on an Atari ST using Notator and HP Deskjet Plus back in 1992. A. K.

A collection of 3 early songs that I composed in different years, not necessarily connected to each other, meaning that they could be performed separately. 1. A swan Composed in 1987 on the english translation of a Raine Maria Rilke’s lyric poem written orig-inally in french. 2.Θρήνος του θανάτου (Lamentation of death) Music composed on the greek translation of a poem by F. G. Lorca. The date indicated on the original handwritten score is the 6th of December 1982 (6/12/82). 3. Fai la nanna bambinello This is a lullaby on an italian folk poem, composed around 1990 as a present for some friends of mine, when their first child was born. Anastasios Karamanlis

„Scherzo“ was composed around 1988-89 for a band in Switzerland. It is my first piece for a band, after it I wrote another two. Printed score was made on an Atari ST using Notator and HP Deskjet Plus. The first percussionist should be able to change between timpani, woodblock and 2 toms. The second between snare drum and woodblock. The third plays gran cassa and piatti. A. K.

During the early 90s Tango was becoming more and more famous. At that time I composed my version of Tango for a piano quartet. The printed score of “Tango” was made on an Atari ST using Notator and a HP Deskjet Plus. ************************************************************************************************ Meine Einstellung von Tango, komponiert in 1991 für Klavierquartett, als Tango began sehr beliebt zu werden. Besetzung: Klavier, Geige, Bratsche, Violoncello. Partitur geschrieben damals mit „Notator“, gedruckt auf einen HP Deskjet Plus. Anastasios Karamanlis

„Walzer“ is the second piece I wrote for a band. My intension was to write a piece far more easier than my „Scherzo“ which proved to be difficult for the half-professional band, for which it was composed. I hadn’t written down the exact year of the composition, as far as I can remember it must have been around 1990. Printed score was made on an Atari ST using Notator. Anastasios Karamanlis
