This book reflects a decade of language test development and research in Austria. Part I outlines the creation of large-scale tests across all educational levels, focusing on German as the primary language of instruction, as well as modern foreign languages such as English, French, Italian, and Spanish, alongside classical languages like Latin and Ancient Greek. Part II compiles extensive research conducted during and after the implementation of a new assessment philosophy over the past ten years. These studies are framed within a test validation context, which may guide future language testing research in Austria.
