Auflage von 1679 wird Isaak Waltons Compleat Angler durch einen fliegenfischereilichen Teil ergänzt, durch die "Instructions how to Angle for a Trout or Grayling, in a Clear Stream" von Charles Cotton, dem Vater der Fliegenfischerei. Beide Teile der Walton-und-Cotton-Ausgabe von Ephemera aus dem Jahr 1853 übersetzte dann bis 1859 J. Schumacher für den Verlag P. Salomon & Co. in Hamburg. Doch kaum ein Dutzend Buchblöcke dieser ersten und bislang einzigen Walton-und-Cotton-Übersetzung ins Deutsche überlebte anno 1859 den großen Brand im Hamburger Verlangshaus und dann auch noch die 140 Jahre bis heute. Wir sind stolz, diese Rarität in so großartiger Qualität anbieten zu können. Den Anhang 1 dieses Nachdrucks bilden die drei kommentierten Bildtafeln jener Ephemera-Ausgabe, mit denen auch die Schumachersche Übersetzung schließt. Erstmalig und absolut einzigartig dann die Darstellungen aller 65 von Cotton beschriebenen bzw. skizzierten Fliegenmuster in Anhang 2. Sie sind der fachpraktischen Erfahrung, sorgsamen Recherchen und der computergrafischen Kunstfertigkeit von Henning von Monteton zu danken.
