The Science and Practice of Resilience
    • This book provides an in-depth exploration of resilience, integrating theories and methodologies applicable to various contexts. It highlights resilience's role in enhancing infrastructure, societies, and environments, emphasizing its significance in managing complex, interconnected systems. Ideal for both learners and practitioners, it offers valuable insights and practical tools.

The Science and Practice of Resilience
    • The book addresses the rising concentrations of atmospheric pollutants, particularly in forests, due to human activities. It focuses on the impact of toxic chemicals, heavy metals, and radionuclides on ecosystem health in Eastern Europe. The content includes modeling, measurements, data, countermeasures, and risk assessment in forest radioecology.

Contaminated Forests. Recent Developments in Risk Identification and Future Perspectives
    • Mankind has long faced the consequences of pollution, which worsened since the industrial revolution. Initially, the approach was to dilute pollutants, but since 1950, efforts have focused on reducing emissions of key pollutants. While the USSR partially followed these practices, pollution remains a significant issue that can be addressed without harming other societal values.

Air Pollution in the Ural Mountains. Environmental, Health and Policy Aspects
    • This book examines the challenges coastal areas face due to resource depletion and environmental threats. It emphasizes the need for sustainable management of infrastructure and resources, advocating for risk assessment methodologies to make informed decisions that enhance environmental security and minimize disasters.

Environmental Security in Harbors and Coastal Areas
    • Access to reliable and affordable energy, water, and services is an important determinant of the prosperity of cities along with effective mission sustainment at military installations. The idea for this book was conceived at the NATO Advanced Research Workshop (ARW) in June 2012 in Hella, Iceland. The workshop was attended by 50 scientists, engineers, and policymakers representing 15 different nations and multiple fields of expertise, reflecting the global and interdisciplinary nature of climate change and sustainability research. The focus of the workshop was on ways in which military installations and small cities can integrate energy, water, and infrastructure sustainability strategies into city and installation management plans that account for climate change uncertainties. The organization of the book reflects major topic sessions and discussions during the workshop.
