Focusing on the interplay between socio-economic context and public policy, this work analyzes educational inequalities in Buenos Aires using data from the 2016 national learning assessment, Aprender. It highlights the importance of supply-side factors in education and argues that while student characteristics influence learning, the state's ability to provide quality education uniformly is crucial. The findings suggest significant opportunities for governmental intervention to address and reduce educational disparities across the region.
