Thomas Vaughan

    Thomas Vaughan war ein Naturphilosoph und Gelehrter, der sich intensiv mit Chemie und Alchemie in der Tradition des Paracelsus beschäftigte. Er gilt als der wahrscheinlichste Autor von Werken über Spiritualität, mystische Philosophie und Naturmagie, die unter dem Pseudonym Eugenius Philalethes veröffentlicht wurden. Vaughan fertigte eine englische Übersetzung des Rosenkreuzer-Textes 'Fama Fraternitatis' an. Ungewöhnlich für seine Zeit arbeitete er eng mit seiner Frau Rebecca an seinen alchemistischen Studien zusammen.
