This is a fun and beautifully illustrated storybook, full of wonderful characters and a vast, adventurous African terrain. Banji is a high-spirited seven-year-old boy who delights in finding creative solutions to challenges. A kindhearted fellow, his life however personifies the expression that it takes a village to raise a child. He is aided by his newly found friend, Yam-Yam the hippo, who often gets him in a jam. Not to worry, there's always help around the corner, and the village never fails to assert the needed wisdom.
