Louis Boussenard (1847 - 1910) war zu Lebzeiten einer der großen Abenteuerschriftsteller Frankreichs und galt als Nachfolger Jules Vernes. Er schrieb den Roman LES ROBINSONS DE LA GUYANE im Jahr 1881, direkt nach seiner Reise nach Französisch-Guayana. DER WEISSE TIGER, der erste - in sich abgeschlossene - Teil dieses Romans ist nun mit neuen Illustrationen als Band 4 der Reihe AVVENTURA MEDITERRANEA erschienen und ist die erste deutsche Übersetzung eines Boussenard-Romans überhaupt.
