Il trovatore Uc Brunenc

This new edition of the six rhymed canzoni by the troubadour Uc Brunenc di Rodez (late 12th century) comes over a century after its nearest predecessor (1895). The critical text, the result of an attempt to rationalize on all the data provided by the rich manuscript tradition, is followed by an Italian translation and a commentary designed to clarify any textual obscurities and the role played by Uc Brunenc in the poetic panorama of the age. The volume opens with an Introduction analyzing the sparse autobiographical jottings left by the poet and the principal metrical and textual features of his work. It closes with an index verborum and a rhyme list.
