Intelligence and Security Informatics (ISI) focuses on the development and application of advanced information technologies for national, international, and societal security. The annual IEEE International Conference series on ISI began in 2003, with the first four meetings held in the United States. In 2006, the Workshop on ISI took place in Singapore alongside the Pacific Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, attracting over 100 global contributors and participants. Subsequent events were held in Chengdu, China, and Taiwan. These conferences unite academic researchers, law enforcement, intelligence experts, and IT practitioners to explore various ISI topics, including data management, text mining for ISI applications, terrorism informatics, deception detection, social network analysis related to crime, public health, bio-security, crime analysis, cyber-infrastructure protection, transportation security, policy evaluation, and information assurance. The series continued with the 2009 Pacific Asia Workshop on ISI, held in conjunction with the Pacific Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining.
