The Sentinel Lymph Node Concept is evaluated from the points of view of pathology, radiodiagnosis and nuclear medicine diagnostics, surgical treatment and clinical oncology. The consequences of false-negative results are clearly delineated. In the second part, specific tumor-related problems are described.
