Charles Sheeler

Charles Sheeler (1883-1965) was one of the pioneer modern artists in America, and the only one whose achievements were equally significant in painting and photography. His best-known subjects celebrate twentieth-century America; at he same time, his work has important links to nineteenth-century American landscape and folk art.
