Der Band vereinigt 15 Beiträge einer Internationalen Fachtagung von Humboldtianern für Humboldtianer im Humboldt-Kolleg in Tiflis, Georgien, vom 17.-20. Mai 2007. The volume contains 15 papers presented at an international meeting organized by Humboldt scholars for Humboldt scholars at Humboldt College in Tbilisi, Georgia, from 17th to 20th May 2007. They deal with copper and precious metals in the Black Sea region in the 5th and 4th mill., early jar burials in south eastern Europe, the origin and diffusion of the European Copper Age, foreign gods, exchange mechanisms in Bronze Age southern Caucasia, cyclopean fortresses and settlements with a symmetrical ground plan in the Caucasian Late Bronze Age as well as settlement and house types of the Late Bronze/Early Iron Age Colchis Culture. Other topics are the absolute dating of the find site of Miciurin-Odaia in Northern Moldavia, graves of the Saharna Culture of the Early Hallstatt period, Caucasian sets of symbols in south-eastern Europe, helmets in the Black Sea region in the 5th to 1st century B. C., graphic style phalerae in the northern Black Sea region in the 3rd to 1st century B. C., grave reliefs of the 5th century B. C. from Sinop, the temple of Apollo Smintheus in the Troad as well as the topography and continuity of pre-Antique settlements and cities in the eastern Black Sea region.
