Making time

How to turn artistic and architectural action into a tool for understanding culture? How to identify the ideas that have shaped a place, a landscape and its people by way of creative thinking? And how to translate such ideas into strategies for future development? These were the challenges for the PAO Experimental Architecture Summerschool in 2009. In search for answers, a group of creators and thinkers from different countries and disciplines went to the Romanian countryside, to mystic mountain village Potoc. Here, they produced a number of art works which turned into powerful contrast agents for „Memes of Potoc“ - the generic ideas of the very place. The projects unearthed memes whose common concept is a secret to modern man: How to make time.
