Facets of transnationalism

Mehr zum Buch
This book presents a collection of texts dealing with transnational phenomena and the impact of migratory movements between geographical and social spaces on the cultural and linguistic identities of entities and individuals. It covers a wide variety of topics, including the French Republican model of integration in the light of the 2005 riots in France, the introduction of new citizenship procedures in the UK in 2005, the linguistic identities of translingual authors and academic discourse on unified Germany. In addition, this collection contains a qualitative study examining the concept of Heimat in the context of the individual and collective integration of Sudeten German expellees in Bavaria (West Germany) after 1945. As each and every one of us is affected by transnational phenomena to a greater or lesser degree, this collection of texts should and is hoped to be of interest to a wide range of readers.
